Thanks so much to everyone who watched and supported us at Cow Town ThrowDown this year, whether it was via the livestream, or up in the bleachers! We had an incredible time competing and placed in fourth place as the fourth alliance captain alongside first pick #6424 Stealth Panther Robotics, second pick #5801 CTC Inspire, and third pick #5119 Team STEAM. A huge thank you to #1730 Team Driven from Lee’s Summit High School for hosting the event! We’re looking forward to competing again next year, and to another great season!
On October 2nd and 3rd, Team Neutrino participated in Clash in the Corn in West Des Moines. This was our third year participating at the first FRC offseason event in Iowa! Not only did we compete, but team members volunteered in many roles, such as food prep, field reset, and concessions. We even presented our world-famous Spaghetti award, sponsored by FRC Tees!
We had a very successful event on the robot side, with Team Neutrino and Halcyon placing second overall, and was the captain of the second alliance. We ended up being finalists and winning the Scouting award! Our “second team”, Team Nutrition, competed with our off-season robot, Calorie, which was a modification to our 2025 robot Levithan that our students did over the summer to advance their design and coding skills. Team Nutrition placed 11th overall, Calorie was the substitute in the second alliance, and made it to finalists with us as an alliance in the playoffs. Overall, it was a fun experience for the team and we were able to use this time to train new members, refine our skills, and continue our lasting impact in the Iowa FRC community.

On Oct 23-24th we will be competing in the annual CowTown ThrowDown competition in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Be will be using Halcyon technology on our robot this offseason, and come watch us on a YouTube livestream happening Saturday and Sunday.

On August 22nd, Team Neutrino presented our 2026 robot Halcyon at the Iowa State Fair. The team showcased the robot at the MidAmerican Energy Stage, letting fair attendees learn about our team, take turns feeding the robot, and watch it shoot fuel into a makeshift goal. Additionally, we displayed our robot in the 4-H Exhibits building while providing activities for kids to learn as they passed by. We also enjoyed the atmosphere of the fair, eating unhealthy (but very delicious) treats, hunting for cold pickles, and visiting cute bunnies. We would like to thank 4-H and MidAmerican for graciously allowing us the opportunity to visit the fair, and we look forward to coming again next year!
Team Neutrino recently attended our sponsor Visit with Emerson, a global technology and engineering company. The near 150 Emerson employees in attendance gave us a warm welcome and engaged with us during our presentation and robot demonstration. We recieved lots of questions from the employees, and we loved sharing about the many different aspects of our team. In turn, Emerson gave our members a comprehensive and interactive tour, teaching us about what they do.

From July 20 to July 23rd, incoming team members participated in Team Neutrino’s CAD camp. During the camp, they developed their 3D modeling skills using the software OnShape. The NEWtrinos learned how to properly confine sketches as well as bringing their 2D drawings to life with extrude and revolve tools. In the end they were able to create a Rocket Guidance Reflector, Robot Control Arm, as well as a Reducer Coupler.
