2015 Recycle Rush

Game Overview

RECYCLE RUSH is a recycling-themed game designed for the 2015 FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC). It is played by two Alliances of three Teams each. Alliances compete simultaneously to score points by stacking Totes on Scoring Platforms, capping those stacks with Recycling Containers, and properly disposing of Litter, represented by pool noodles, in designated locations. More information can be found on Wikipedia or watch the game animation.

Our Robot

From March 18-21st, we attended our first regional of the season at the Central Illinois Regional in Peoria, IL. After two tough days of competition, we were chosen to join the 7th seed alliance in the Elimination rounds with alliance partners 2081 and 2736. Our alliance was defeated in the quarterfinals by the 2nd seed alliance. At the Minnesota North Star Regional, we performed fantastically. Ranked 7th out of 60 teams in attendance, we joined the 3rd seed alliance alongside 3883 and 5339. Though our alliance lost in the quarterfinal rounds, we had another victory in the form of the Dean’s List award, a prestigious award for students where mentors nominate students with outstanding qualities. Dagney Paskach was chosen as a Dean’s List finalist (pictured in the center of the above photograph), and we could not be more proud!
