2026: Rebuilt

Game Overview

REBUILT is the 2026 FIRST Robotics Competition game. In this game, two teams compete to score points by shooting fuel, crossing barriers, and climbing a tower before time runs out. During the autonomous phase, robots score fuel in their hub. Robots can start with fuel already loaded, get it from the human player, collect it from the depot, or pick it up from the field’s center. Some robots may also climb the tower for extra points.

During TELEOP, depending on how well the robots performed during the autonomous phase, the alliance hubs will switch between active and inactive for 25 seconds. This change affects gameplay on both sides of the field. Robots can gather fuel at any time and can hold as much fuel as they want.

As time ends, all hubs become active, allowing all robots to score points. Robots can climb the 3 levels of the tower and gain bonuses to improve their rankings. The team with the most points wins the match! You can find more details in the game manual.

Our Robot

During the 2026 season, our robot was named Halcyon. The term “halcyon” refers to an idyllic past, as seen in the phrase “halcyon days.” Our 2026 robot resembles both Endeavor/Felix, featuring a tower that leads to an adjustable hood shooter, and Atlas, which had an uneven four-bar intake and also included a hood shooter. Both Endeavor/Felix and Atlas are fondly remembered for winning a regional event, hence the connection to an idealized past. Additionally, Halcyon can be easily shortened to “Hal,” which rhymes with Val (short for Valkyrie).

Our robot features a 4 Wheel SDS Mk5n Swerve Drive, Over-the-Bumper Intake, Spindexer and turreted Shooter Designed to complete Rebuilt’s Main Objectives. Halcyon was designed to shoot and store as much fuel as we can during a match having turret that can shoot while moving anywhere. Halcyon’s swerve drive provides reliable omni-directional movement able to traverse over the Bump. Halcyon can quickly fill it’s Hopper with up to 80 Fuel utilizing it’s Over the Bumper Intake. Halcyon can accurately empty it’s hopper into the active hub utilizing it’s Spindexer and Turreted Shooter. Utilizing the flexibility of it’s Turret, Halcyon can score out of any direction of the robot providing exceptional scoring flexibility, especially under defense. Additionally, The turret allows Halcyon to Shoot on the Move, allowing for Halcyon to intake near by fuel on the ground as it’s hopper gets close to empty. During the autonomous period, the robot can score around 60 fuel and also fill our hopper entirely full at the beginning of the autonomous period.

Competitions

In 2026, we attended the Minnesota Bluff Country Regional, where we won the Team Sustainabiliy award with ending as finalists, the Iowa Regional, where we won the Engineering Inspiration award, Woodie Flowers Finalist, and Regional Winners!! We also went to the FIRST Championship in Houston when we qualified during the Minnesota Bluff Country Regional.
