2026 FLL Scrimmage and Webster City FLL Regional

On December 5th, Team Neutrino organized a FLL scrimmage at Ames Middle School for local FLL teams preparing for the regional competition the following day. FTC Team Photon #18050 also volunteered alongside Team Neutrino to ensure a smooth schedule.

Judges were stationed in the bleachers, asking questions and listening to the FLL teams’ research and robot presentations. After the judging was completed, the robot competitions began. Many teams faced challenges as they worked to improve their robots in a limited amount of time.

At the end of the scrimmage, Team Neutrino and Team Photon gave presentations about their respective teams. This effort aimed to inspire the students to consider pursuing robotics in high school.

Following the FLL Scrimmage, the AMS FLL teams competed at the Webster City FLL Regional! Some awards won by the teams include:

27661 Dino Nuggets

  • Won the State Advancing Award

25942 Tikki Tikki Tembo No Sa Rembo Tari Gari Guchi Pit Peri Pembo

  • Won the Motivate Award

Awards Camp 2025

Over July 28-29th, incoming students participated in Team Neutrino’s Awards Camp to learn more about the Awards Subteam. Last year’s impact presenters led presentations about the different aspects of awards, such as the executive summary, impact essay, and presentation. Students learned more about these aspects through analyzing other teams’ essays and executive summaries and creating presentations on topics of their choice. On the last day, students presented their written scripts and wrapped up the camp by playing a fun Kahoot to review everything they learn in the past two days!

Thank you to all the students who attended! We’re excited to see how you apply what you’ve learned this season!
