Story County Fair 2025

On July 16, Team Neutrino members volunteered at the annual Story County Fair! In three shifts, team members had a fun time serving food to customers, welcoming fair-goers, and supervising the buildings. Thank you to 4H for hosting, and those who helped out!

Onshape Learning

This off-season, our team is going through the process of switching our CAD software from SolidWorks to Onshape. We made this decision due to Onshape’s increased accessibility and learning tools, allowing members to work from home, so we can grow as a team. Our CAD will also be easier to access during competitions, which will help our pit crew with repairs. Returning design members have been working through Onshape learning courses both in their free time and in weekly design meetings. During CAD camp, new members also started learning Onshape, and they are now attending the weekly design meetings.

We are excited to continue developing our CAD skills with Onshape!

Intro Programming Camp 2025

During the week of July 14th, incoming students built upon their programming skills at Team Neutrino’s Intro Programming Camp. Returning members led presentations about Java and FRC programming, and students developed their understanding of these topics by completing various practice problems. Later in the week, students began to try out code on test boards, lighting up LEDs and running motors. On the last day, campers were even able to test their code on our robot elevator!

Thank you to the students who attended. We look forward to seeing you apply these skills in the future!

Intro CAD Camp 2025

The week of July 7, Team Neutrino hosted our annual CAD camp to teach incoming students about the Design subteam and the CAD software we use. Students learned to sketch, make parts, and create assemblies while getting accustomed to OnShape in preparation for the build season. Thanks to all those who attended, and we’re excited to see what you do for the design subteam in the future!

Intro Electrical Camp 2025

From June 30 to July 2, Team Neutrino hosted an Intro Electrical Camp to teach prospective members about our robot’s electrical system. Participants learned how our robot is powered and how we transmit and receive information from its various mechanisms. They then applied these concepts by wiring FRC hardware on test boards. They also built skills crucial for the electrical side of the Controls subteam, such as soldering, crimping wires, and troubleshooting.

We’re excited to see how these students apply their new skills in future!
